It’s been said that one coach will impact more people in one year than the average person does in a lifetime.  The “coach” has been validated as the single greatest authoritative figure in the life of today’s adolescent.  Coaches leave a legacy.

Cory has dedicated his life to the sport of hockey and acts as an ambassador of the game. Proud to represent USA Hockey as a master level coach and receiving Gold honor in goaltending development.  He graduated in 2005 from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and played Division II hockey and lacrosse. While studying in school, he interned with the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots and the Calder Cup Champion Manchester Monarchs, as he played a key role in organizing the 2005 AHL All Star Game.

After college, Cory played two seasons of professional hockey in the NEHL for the Mohawk Valley Ice Cats and Norfolk Ice Cats in Simcoe, Ontario. He then returned to Western New York, where he joined the Buffalo State College Men’s Hockey Team, Buffalo Jr. Sabres and the Niagara University Purple Eagles team as an Assistant Coach.  In 2016-2017 season, Cory was an assistant coach with the University at Buffalo ACHA D1 hockey team and has worked in player development as a skills coach with the ECHL 2021 Kelly Cup Champion Ft. Wayne Komets which has a dual NHL affiliate with the Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Los Angeles Kings.

Wherever Cory instructs, he is dedicated to teaching with enthusiasm, high tempo proper skating techniques while exercising good on and off ice character. He is all about relationships and he instills his passion of the sport through his knowledge, rigorous training, words of encouragement and his quick smile to calm even the most challenging skater.

Cory is currently specializing in player development coaching with 20 youth teams with a radius spreading from Western New York to Southern Ontario. He recently took part in the Hockey Summit over the summer of 2019 in Ft. Myers, Florida with Anaheim Ducks strength and conditioning coach Justin Roethlingschofer hosting NHL, AHL and NCAA players in a specialized invite only camp.

In addition to his wide-ranging professional experience, Cory excels in community service. He offers his time, support and his kind heart to many community groups such as S.A.B.A.H., Variety Club of Buffalo and U.S.A. Sled Hockey.
